Match report Finally the skipper lost the toss and guess what?? We won!
We were asked to bowl on a scorching hot day but the High Roding attack as ever did not let the side down. An amazing opening spell from Archie Halls on debut produced 4 wickets to leave the hosts reeling at 28 for 4. Some excellent batting from the opposition captain got Brookweald to a competitive total of 175. Jamie with 3 wickets bowled intelligently and with Gus taking the crucial wicket of their skipper we were hopeful of a first victory of the season at tea.
The reply started well with Andy 45 putting on 70 for the first wicket with Gus who went on to score a fine 62. Rory always looked in control and scored a well crafted 37 to nearly see us home. It was left to the 2 Harrys to get us over the line for a comfortable 6 wicket win with 9 overs left.
Hopefully we can now go on a run to push ourselves up the table.
