High Roding Cricket Club Won High Roding by 4 wickets

Match report A good all round performance from the team. A particularly good bowling effort with everyone contributing well. An accurate, pacey opening partnership from Toby and Charlie Gilfrin who bagged 2 wickets.
Patrick and Charlie H strangnled the Thorley batsmwn conceeding only 9 off thier 4 overs with some attritional line and length bowling. Then came Kimmy Ruby and Charlie S who all bowled well with more pace. Poor Thorley must have felt like England did in the 1980's facing the West Indies with HR's depth in bowling. Henry bamboozled Thorley with some more flighted mystery spin, and Jake was Unlucky to be on the rteeiving end of some lusty blows from Thorley as they tried to accelerste the run rate. A special mention has to go to Skipper Jess who kept impeccably and with a great cricket spirit, choosing not to whip the bails off at every opportunity, giving the batsmen a chance. A terrific attitude to go with aimmense talent.
Jess opened up with a quick fire 18 from only 7 balls including a sumptious lofted straight drive 1 bounce 4. Jake batted with a maturity beyond his years deciding he was going to make 30 and retire, defending stoically and punishing anything loose. A strong bowling performance by Thorley made for some difficult batting but Gilf, Ruby, Kimmy and Patrick all chipped in to finish the run chase in the 13th over. Henry was unluckily run out and Toby having bowled some beautiful swinging deliveries was on the receiving end of "the ball of the match" which pitched middle and off and and moved away to take the top or off stump.
A great win and well palyed everyone.
