Match report After last week’s disappointing loss, High Roding’s 2nd XI arrived at Ilford Catholics CC determined to win and bring their promotion push back on track.

High Roding won the toss put the opposition to bat, which looked like a tricky wicket. High Roding’s opening bowling pair Nad (9- 3-31-2) and Amit (9-1-31-3) bowled a tight spell to keep the opposition run rate under 3 an over, at the end of the first 15 overs, which was well supported by Clare (5-1-26-0) and Tom (6-0-31-2).

However, the spell of the day belongs to Adrian Nelson (9-2-23-2), whom kept the opposition batters struggling to read his off spin and in also surprising Ben (behind the wicket) with some high bouncers!

After a tremendous effort in the field, which comprised a great catch from Freddie Duke, High Roding managed to limit Ilford Catholics to 177 for 9, at the end of the 40 overs.

In response, High Roding’s never looked in any sort of trouble chasing the score, especially with another excellent innings by Captain Tom, who scores 121 not out to ensure we claim a well-deserved victory. Tom’s innings were well supported by Tahir (28) and Pasky (24), and finally by the debutant Biju (0 NO).
