High Roding Cricket Club Won By 8 Wickets
Match report
In the second division, High Roding traveled to Takeley looking to complete their second win on the bounce. After winning the toss, Takeley opted to bat first on a good batting track but were put under immediate pressure from Roding’s opening bowling combination of Adrian Pask and Joel Tadman. Roding’s strength and depth in the bowling department meant the home side struggled to gather momentum throughout the innings, the only resistance coming from N. Cox who scored 42. The pick of the bowlers for Roding was Jordan Baker, who finished with figures of 4-15 from 8.2 Overs. Jon Everett also contributed significantly to restricting Takeley with figures of 3-41 From his 10 overs. Two brilliant run-outs from Roding’s fielders helped the away team bowl out Takeley for 154 in 42.2 Overs.
In reply, Roding got off to a flying start with opener Jordan Baker continuing his rich vein of form with a brilliant 66. He was ably supported by Michael Richardson scoring 41 not out and skipper Joel Tadman with 28 not out. Roding reached the winning target in 30 overs to complete an emphatic victory and move up to fifth in the Division 2 table. High Roding 2s host Dunmow 2s next week at The Meadow.
