High Roding Cricket Club Lost By 111 runs

Match report With rain in the air and lots forecast HR won the toss and had to bowl first. Amazingly we managed to stay on for the whole game despite constant rain so the decision back fired somewhat.
Despite a brilliant opening spell from Rory Burns who ended up with 2 for 29 off 10 overs, the South Weald top 3 all batted very well to post a formidable 273. Freddie with 3 wickets, Nad and Will 2 a piece all toiled with a wet ball. The whole team stuck to the task throughout and Amit was very unfortunate not to pick up a wicket.
In reply Harry and Andy put on 55 for the first wicket but both got bowled on that score and we then struggled to keep up with the run rate, losing wickets a long the way. Freddie with 37 looked good but in the gloom he holed out and that was the game over.
So despite another defeat there are many positives to take from today. Harry Olorenshaw and William Davis impressed and with more colts to come back in the next few weeks the future is bright. Lets hope the weather is next week!
