High Roding Cricket Club Lost By 2 wickets

Match report High Roding won another toss and decided to bat on a green looking wicket. Henry started brightly hitting several boundaries, including a lost ball 6 and in getting to 47 he had put on 69 for the first wicket with Andy.
Chris with another fine knock of 65 and Andy 72 kept the scoreboard moving and with Harry playing a very mature innings of 43 a total of 263 looked competitive.
In reply Little Waltham looked in trouble at 112 for 5 but as we saw in the home game they bat deep. The bowlers all did their best with Kit picking up 3 wickets, Sam 2 and Freddie 2 but some fine lower order hitting saw the hosts prevail by 2 wickets. A very competitive and enjoyable game of cricket and although defeat probably ends our promotion hopes we have plenty to play for in the coming weeks.
A special mention this week to Nad who not only bowled his 10 overs for only 43 but he also umpired for 40 overs which is much appreciated.
