High Roding Cricket Club Won By 42 runs

Match report High Roding won the toss and elected to bat first on what proved to be a road!.
Molly 75 and Andy 63 put on 138 for the first wicket to set the foundation for a tremendous total of 339. Chris was looking very comfortable but unfortunately had to retire hurt on 16. However a wonderful partnership between Jeff 117 no and George 37 no set a formidable score.
In reply Simon took a wicket with his first ball but Eastwood batted very to always be just about in the game. With Chris and Jeff injured we had to keep bowling well. George Halls capped another all round display with 3 wickets and Gus also picked up 3. A fine team performance today enabled us to secure what looks like a comfortable victory but we were made to work hard against very good opponents who were 3rd in the league at the start of the day. Hopefully another couple of wins will see us safe but there is plenty of hard work to come.
Finally a big thank you to Dore's Kitchen in High Roding for providing a wonderful tea. Hopefully many more will now follow.
