High Roding Cricket Club 2nd XI v Takeley II on Sat 13 Jul 2019 at 13:30
High Roding Cricket Club Won
Match report
Match report by Nad K…
Back at High Roding CC’s familiar track, the team arrived with confidence and wanting to bounce back from the last week’s loss.
Clearly driven by England’s Roy and Bairstow, Tom (84) and Richard (105 NO) formed a formidable opening partnership that effectively took the game away from the opposition. Tahir (26) and Harry (46) batted well and took several quick three runs with Richard, who looked Usain Bolt rejuvenated!
Harry Warnes hit “the six of the match” in the last over, with the ball travelling nearly 100 meters….even Jason Roy would have been proud of that hit!
295 runs for the loss of 4 wickets, looks like a winning score and the team were very confident at tea. A special thank you to Toby Warnes for his lovely tea!
In response, Takeley struggled to keep up with the run chase, duly supported by some excelled tidy bowling by High Roding’s opening pair with Nad (6-2-9-0) and George (7-0-37-0). Jamie (7-0-21-2) bowled an excellent spell and was within 2 inches from his first High Roding hattrick, and well supported by Harry W (5-0-26-2).
To complete the “Morley-Jacobs” show, Guy finished the game with 6.5-0-18-3!
A great 129 win for High Roding and once again touching distance from the top of the league table.
Com’on England!
